Tilt Meters

Tiltmeter or Beam Sensor is used to monitor vertical rotation, deflection, & deformation of diaphragm & retaining walls. Our supplier is the world’s leading manufacturer of affordable, accurate, robust, and reliable tiltmeters, as well as, beam sensors.

Tilt in any structure can be caused by various construction activities like excavation, tunneling, or de-watering that may negatively affect the ground that supports the structure.

TILTMETER

Box-Type Analog Tilt Meter

This box type digital tilt meter consists of uniaxial MEMS sensor mounted inside a compact, weatherproof enclosure. These tilt meters are suitable for monitoring small changes in inclination and vertical rotation of structures. The tilt meters provide a relatively low cost system which offers excellent resolution and long term stability.

The tilt meter can be fixed on to a vertical or horizontal surface either directly using 4 mounting screws or fasteners or using a mounting kit that allows more flexibility in mounting the tilt meter. Movement of the structure causes change in tilt of the tilt meter, which results in change in output of the sensor. The tilt meter data can be logged and transferred through the model ESDL-30 or EWS Switch compact wireless datalogger.

Analog Tilt Meter

This tilt meter is suitable for monitoring of inclination and vertical rotation in structures. It is a high resolution tilt meter, is rugged in construction and has excellent temperature stability.

This tilt meter consists of a MEMS sensor, mounted inside stainless steel housing. The sensor SS enclosure is welded using an electron beam welding technique, with a vacuum of 1/1000 Torr inside it. The sensor provides a relatively low cost system which offers excellent resolution, long term stability and a low thermal sensitivity.

The tiltmeter is fixed on a vertical or horizontal surface by means of an adjustable bracket and expandable anchor. Movement of the structure causes change in tilt of the tilt meter, which results in change in output of the sensor. Measurements can be made on horizontal or vertical surfaces.

Subsequent sets of readings show how the structure is behaving and will give an indication of permanent deformations as time progresses.

The unit has a voltage output, which can be read by any suitable readout unit that measures differential voltage output. It can also be directly connected to our automatic data acquisition system.

Inbuilt Tilt Sensor

The beam sensor consists of MEMS tilt sensor housed inside a beam, which can be 1 m, 2 m, or 3 m long. It is attached to the structures for monitoring any differential movement and tilting of structures

The unit comes with voltage output, while other models are a digital beam sensor.

The sensors provide a relatively low cost system which offers excellent resolution and long term stability.

The beam sensor can be mounted both vertically and horizontally. These are provided with special mounting fasteners for horizontal and vertical installations on concrete structures. For monitoring differential settlement along railway tracks, installation may be required on wooden railway track sleepers. For such installation, mounting plates are available (at extra cost).

This beam sensor can be monitored with any suitable portable readout unit or connected to a data acquisition system using Busmux or multiplexer.

The beam sensor data can be logged and transferred through our a compact wireless datalogger.

Electrolyic Tiltmeter & Beam Sensors

Electrolytic Uniaxial Tilt Meters

This tilt sensor are designed for measuring very small tilts, of the order of half a degree, with a high resolution. It is designed to monitor rotation and deflection of structures such as buildings, retaining walls etc. in a vertical plane. These are rugged and high-resolution tilt meters and housed in a compact weatherproof enclosure. These are generally used as a stand-alone unit for measuring tilt. It is either attached directly to the structure whose tilt is to be monitored using suitable mounting brackets or fixed to horizontal or vertical beams.

Electrolytic Uniaxial Beam Sensor

The beam sensor consists of a sensor mounted on a beam of specified gauge length and suitable mounting hardware for fixing the beams to the structure. The individual beam sensors are generally used in linked form to give a differential displacement profile. An array of linked beam sensors allows the vertical settlement profile along the array line to be determined.

Electrolytic Uniaxial Beam Sensor

This tilt meter is suitable for monitoring inclination and vertical rotation of structures. It is a high resolution tilt meter and rugged in construction. The electrolytic tilt sensor is housed inside the beam (1, 2 or 3 m long). These individual beam sensors can be fixed on to the structures or used in linked form to give differential displacement profile. An EDI-53ELV read-out logger is required to read voltage output from sensor. The output can also be monitored or logged at a remote location by our automatic data acquisition system/automatic data loggers.

Tiltmeter with RF Transmission

This is an advanced wireless tilt meter suitable for real time monitoring of small changes in inclination and vertical rotation of structures. The tilt meter combines high precision MEMS sensor with a radio transmission network to provide accurate tilt data.

The tilt meter is a standalone unit in a weatherproof compact enclosure and provides reliable and high-resolution readings with long term stability. It is interfaced with the long-range, low power wireless radio frequency network that allows tilt meter to send recorded data to the Gateway. The Gateway then uploads all the collected sensor data to the central/cloud server. The wireless network used in the system has an advantage of reliable data transfer over long distances with utmost reliability and without any delay.

A cloud-hosted data management and configuration software can be used to manage the network. The configuration can be done with an easy to use smartphone application that comes free with the system.

With the real-time data collected from the wireless tilt meter, the authorities can know about the slightest of change taking place in the project. This allows one to take timely decisions, increase safety, reduce project delays and be more cost-effective.
