Water Monitoring Systems

Water level monitoring is of utmost importance in view of depleting water resources. A variety of solutions are available ranging from unattended maintenance-free monitoring of a single borehole for use by industry to state-wide monitoring of hundreds of boreholes from a central location.

WATER MONITORING SYSTEMS

TD-Diver

The TD-Diver is a submersible datalogger for long-term uninterrupted, real-time water level monitoring using a pressure sensor when submerged at a fixed level under the water surface. The pressure sensor measures the equivalent hydrostatic pressure of the water above the sensor diaphragm to calculate the total water depth. The Diver autonomously measures pressure and temperature and records them in its internal memory. The Diver is ideal for ground and surface water level applications.

Barometric Logger (Baro)

The Baro-Diver® is a datalogger for long-term uninterrupted, real-time atmospheric pressure monitoring. In addition, the Baro-Diver can monitor shallow water levels using a pressure sensor when submerged at a fixed level under the water surface. The pressure sensor measures the equivalent hydrostatic pressure of the water above the sensor diaphragm to calculate the total water depth. The Diver autonomously measures pressure and temperature and records them in its internal memory.

Micro-Diver

Measuring only 88 mm (3.46″) in length and 18 mm (0.71″) in diameter, the Micro-Diver is Van Essen’s smallest Diver. The Micro-Diver® is a submersible datalogger for long-term, uninterrupted, real-time water level monitoring using a pressure sensor when submerged at a fixed level under the water surface. The pressure sensor measures the equivalent hydrostatic pressure of the water above the sensor diaphragm to calculate the total water depth. Ceramic-shelled Diver

Monitoring groundwater under potentially corrosive conditions, such as brackish water and seawater, requires a robust and durable datalogger.

The ceramic-shelled Cera-Diver is designed specifically for such environments. This highly reliable and compact Diver measures groundwater levels with a typical accuracy of ±0.05% full scale.

In addition to its rugged casing, the Cera-Diver’s memory capacity can store up to 48,000 measurements (date/time, pressure and temperature) – almost one measurement every ten minutes for an entire year.

The Cera-Diver has the following sample methods: fixed length intervals, event dependent, averaging and pumping test.

The Cera-Diver is available in the following pressure ranges: 10 m, 20 m, 50 m and 100 m.

CTD-Diver

NEW

The new CTD-Diver comes with an upgraded memory size of 144,000 records, backup memory and is also available in a 200-meter pressure range.

Where there is a need to monitor groundwater levels and saltwater intrusion, injected wastewater, or contamination from chemical discharges and landfill sites, the CTD-Diver® with its 22 mm diameter rugged, corrosion proof ceramic (zirconium-oxide) housing, is the instrument of choice.

The CTD-Diver autonomously measures conductivity, pressure and temperature and records them in its internal memory. The CTD-Diver is ideal for ground and surface water level applications.

The CTD-Diver is a submersible datalogger for long-term uninterrupted, real-time water level monitoring using a pressure sensor when submerged at a fixed level under the water surface. The pressure sensor measures the equivalent hydrostatic pressure of the water above the sensor diaphragm to calculate the total water depth.

In addition, to a pressure sensor the CTD-Diver is also equipped with a 4-electrode conductivity sensor for measuring the true or specific electrical conductivity of the water from 0 to 120 mS/cm.

The CTD-Diver can store 144,000 measurements with backup (date/time, pressure, temperature and conductivity).

The CTD-Diver has the following sample methods: fixed length intervals, event dependent, averaging and pumping test.

The CTD-Diver is available in the following pressure ranges: 10 m, 50 m, 100 m and 200 m.

Automatic Water Level Monitoring System

The automatic water level monitoring system is used to get administers significant quantitative data on the magnitude of the water column, water table and the temperature in a borehole.

The system contains an absolute water level sensor with a cable and an automatic data logger with the required data retrieval/transmission options. The data logger is programmed to automatically store the water head/pressure data at fixed intervals with a minimum scan/upload interval from 5 seconds to 168 hours with different options to download the data. Data transmission can be set remotely at scheduled times with telemetry (GSM/GPRS or satellite) or downloaded on a laptop/mobile in the field through Bluetooth or a cable. The water level data can be modified for specific gravity variations in water.

This unit monitors water levels at remote locations continuously in near real time from a central location and also sends alerts through SMS and E-mail. This solution gives researchers and decision maker quick access to the comprehensive groundwater data efficiently and cost effectively.
